this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments
are not grievous.

And
hereby we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 1 John 2:3
For by
grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the
gift of God; not of works, that no man should glory. For we are his
workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared
that we should walk in them. That the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled
in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:4
For
what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending

If ye
abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be
done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; and so
shall ye be my disciples. Even as the Father hath loved me, I also have loved
you: abide ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my
love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. John

Obeying the law according to the Bible
If ye
love me, ye will keep my commandments. John 14:15
Teacher,
which is the great commandment in the law? And he said unto him, Thou shalt
love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all
thy mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second like unto it is
this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments the
whole law hangeth, and the prophets. Matthew 22:36-40
Think
not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but
to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot
or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be
accomplished. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments,
and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but
whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of
heaven. For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the
righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the
kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:17-20
I
delight to do thy will, O my God; Yea, thy law is within my heart. Psalm 40:8
Then
said I, Lo, I am come; In the roll of the book it is written of me: Psalm 40:7
